Light therapies for myopia control .
Light therapies for myopia control are a relatively new addition to science and practice. The most well-known, with the widest evidence-base, is repeated low-level red light (RLRL) therapy (650nm). This has mounting evidence for slowing myopia onset and progression in children, including those with high myopia and fast observed progression in orthokeratology wear.
New light therapies on the horizon include use of cyan light-emitting glasses (507nm), bright (white) light desktop devices, and a pre-commercial VR-like headset delivering targeted light to the optic nerve. Keep up to date with the latest on light therapies here!
